SOCIAL SKILLS FOR ADOLESCENTS AND YOUNG ADULTS

Island Behavioral Health offers the evidence-based UCLA PEERS Social Skills Group for Teens and Young Adults. Jordan Gibson, BCBA, and Dr. Shawna Ueyama are certified providers and will hold sessions for participants and their parents. 

Teens/Young Adults will learn to:

  • Improve conversation skills

  • Use common interests to build friendships

  • Manage teasing, bullying, peer pressure,
    and other social challenges

  • Use humor skillfully

  • Host a get-together

  • Choose healthy friendships

  • Mend bad reputations

  • Handle conflict and disagreements

  • Understand nonverbal social cues

  • Flirt

  • Find out if someone is romantically interested in you

  • Plan and go on dates

GREAT FOR ADOLESCENTS AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS, DEPRESSION, ADHD, ANXIETY, AND OTHER SOCIAL OR BEHAVIORAL DIFFICULTIES.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCIAL SKILLS (AGES 10-14):

WED 5:30-7:00PM

Telehealth options available to accommodate outer-island clients.
